| Early October 2011 | Start of the application cycle for 2012 course entry. You use Apply to make your online application. We start to send applications to training providers for consideration. Training providers can choose to stop receiving applications for middle years and secondary teaching courses as soon as they have filled their places. |
| 1 December 2011 | If you are applying for primary teaching courses, we must receive your application by this date to guarantee that we can send it to your first choice training provider for consideration. After 1 December training providers can choose to stop receiving applications for primary teaching courses. |
| Mid-January 2012 | We start to decline offers for places on primary teaching courses if applicants do not make replies by the deadlines shown on Track. |
| 27 February 2012 | Final date for training providers to make decisions on all applications they received by 31 January 2012. |
| 14 March 2012 | Extra starts. If you do not hold a place and we cannot send your application to another training provider for consideration, you can use the Extra process to apply to one further training provider at a time on Track. |
| 30 June 2012 | We must receive your application by this date to send it to training providers for consideration. Applications received at the GTTR after this date are entered directly into the Clearing system. In Clearing you can contact training providers with vacancies to find out if they can consider you. |
| Early July 2012 | Clearing starts. All new applications we receive from this date are entered directly into our Clearing system. |
| 18 August 2012 | Final date that you can register to make an application for 2012 entry on Apply. | 3 September 2012 | Final date for the receipt of completed applications for 2012 entry at the GTTR. |
