Full-time and part-time courses
Most teacher training courses in England and Wales and PGDE courses in Scotland involve one academic year of full-time study starting in September and finishing in June the following year. All the full-time courses for which you apply through the GTTR are listed on Course Search.
Some training providers also offer part-time courses that last for 18 months or two years. Many of these training providers recruit for their part-time courses through the GTTR. These courses are included on Course Search. After you have carried out a search on Course Search, you need to click on the course title in red to find out whether or not a course is offered as part-time. Some providers who recruit for their full-time courses through the GTTR have decided to recruit direct for their part-time courses. These part-time courses are not included on Course Search.
If details are only shown for a full-time course on Course Search, but you want to study this course part-time, it is worth contacting the training provider to find out if they accept direct applications for a part-time route.
