Making changes

What to do if you need to make changes

Your postal address, home address, phone number or mobile number

If you change your postal address, phone number or mobile number permanently, please let us know immediately. You can do this on Track or by calling our Customer Service Unit. We will inform the training provider where you are being considered or where you are holding a place. If you are expecting any important letters from this provider, you may also want to tell them yourself. Remember to make arrangements to redirect your mail so that you receive any letters that have already been posted to you.

If you are using a different postal address during term time, please make sure that you change your postal address to your home or your new address at the end of the summer term.

You can also change your home address on Track.

Your email address

If you change your email address, please let us know immediately by amending it on Track. We will verify your new address by sending you an email that contains a verification code. You will need to enter this verification code into Track to confirm that the email address is correct. When you have done this, your new email address will be displayed.

Adding or changing choices

If you have not already accepted a place and your application is not in Extra or Clearing you will be able to:

  • change any of your existing course choices where your application has not been considered by calling our Customer Service Unit
  • add further course choices on Track if there are fewer than four choices listed on your Track record.

Please remember that you may only include two primary teaching courses in your four choices.

If, at any time before Extra starts in mid-March, you do not hold a place and we cannot send your application to another training provider for consideration, we will send you an email asking you to check your application on Track. The Track system will ask you if you want to make further choices. If you have not provided a valid email address, we will send you a letter inviting you to make additional choices. You can make up to four new choices, including no more than two primary teaching courses.

Cancel your application

When we have processed your application, we send you a welcome letter with an Applicant Welcome Guide that explains the remainder of the application process. If you want to cancel your application and receive a refund of your application fee, we must receive the completed CANCEL slip from your Applicant Welcome Guide or you must call our Customer Service Unit within 14 days from the date on your Welcome letter.

Withdraw your application

When we have processed your application, we send you a Welcome letter. You can withdraw your application on Track after 14 days from the date of this letter, but we will not refund your application fee. Please do not withdraw your application on Track within 14 days of the date on your Welcome letter. During this period you should cancel your application using the procedure described above.
