From early July to the end of the application cycle in October, if you have not accepted an offer and you do not have any further choices where we can send your application for consideration, we will enter you into our Clearing system. In Clearing you can contact any training providers with vacancies to find out if they can consider you.
If we receive your application after 30 June, we will not be able to process it in the normal way and send it to a training provider for consideration. We will enter your application directly into the Clearing system.
If you become eligible to apply to training providers in Clearing, we will send you a Clearing Passport that fully explains the Clearing process and gives you your Clearing Number.
Before you contact any training providers in Clearing, you need to look at the latest course and vacancy information on Course Search to find out if any providers still have vacancies on courses that interest you. You then contact providers to confirm whether or not they can consider you. Training providers will ask you to give them the Clearing Number on your Clearing Passport before they can agree to consider you.
When a training provider agrees to consider you in Clearing, they will obtain all your application details from us online and then decide whether or not to invite you for interview. If the training provider invites you for interview, they will ask you to send them your Clearing Passport. You must send your original Clearing Passport, they will not accept photocopies. Training providers will not be able to finalise interview arrangements until they have your original Clearing Passport.
After the interview, the training provider will tell you whether or not they can offer you a place. If the provider offers you a place and you tell them that you definitely want to accept it, they will keep your Clearing Passport and inform us that you have accepted a place. We will then send you a letter to confirm your place.
When you accept a place in Clearing, you are committed to take up this place. You cannot apply to any other training providers in the same application cycle.
If a training provider cannot offer you a place or you turn down their offer, you can apply to other training providers in Clearing. Make sure that training providers do not keep your Clearing Passport; you will need it to apply to other providers.
