The Graduate Teacher Training Registry (GTTR) is an admissions service operated by the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS) which acts on behalf of training providers in England, Scotland and Wales to process applications for entry to their pre-service postgraduate teacher training courses.
You have been allocated a username and password to enable you to log into the service and submit a reference to us. To ensure this application progresses as quickly as possible, you should aim to submit your reference within two weeks. If you have been unable to do so, we will send you an email reminder (or a letter if we don't have your email address). We will also send an email to the applicant at this stage to explain what we have done.
If you are unable to access this secure service, please check through this list of commonly asked questions, to find tips on how to solve the problem.
For security reasons, the GTTR online reference system will timeout after 30 minutes of user inactivity. 'Inactivity' includes the time spent directly typing a reference into the online system. Please ensure that you save your reference every 10 minutes or so, if you are entering it this way, to ensure that you are not timed out. The GTTR strongly recommends that after you have finished using the service, you log out using the logout button and close down your browser. This will ensure that no one else will be able to access your details.
Most Internet browsers of version 5 or above have a built-in feature, which allows you to save your password. If you are using this level of browser it will allow anyone using the PC on which the password was saved, to log on to the service and amend your details without needing to re-enter your password. For this reason we strongly recommend that you do not use this feature.
When I click on 'Log in to the GTTR referees' system' I cannot get to the next page?
The online reference system runs on a secure web server (using https protocol rather than http). If you cannot access the service, this may be due to one of the following reasons:
1. Your Internet Explorer browser has not been configured to display secure web pages. If you are using Internet Explorer:
Choose:

internet options
advanced
scroll down to security
ensure SSL 2 and SSL 3 are both checked.
2. If you have a firewall or proxy server that does not permit the SSL traffic to pass through it on port 443, this could also be the problem. If you can view the following page: https://secure.gttr.ac.uk/, this should rule out this as the cause of the problem. If you cannot access this page, please report the problem to your Internet Service Provider (ISP) or computing support manager.
My username and password are not accepted?
Please enter your username and password exactly as they appear in the email orletter requesting a reference. Your username is composed of two letters, then two numbers, then two letters and then two numbers. Your password comprises two letters, then four numbers and then two letters. If you have five failed attempts to log into the service in one day, you will not be permitted to access the service until the next day.
I get a message saying the service has 'timed out'?
For security reasons, the application times out after 30 minutes of inactivity. 'Inactivity' includes the time spent directly typing a reference into the online system. Please ensure that you save your reference every 10 minutes or so, if you are entering it this way, to ensure that you are not timed out. In this instance, you will need to restart the application by returning to the welcome page. If you are receiving a 'timed out' message immediately after commencing, this suggests that you are receiving a cached copy of this page, rather than one sent from our server. To test this, call up the online reference system again and go to the entry screen which asks for your username and password. If you are using an Internet Explorer browser, hold down the control key and click on the refresh browser button. (If you are using Netscape, you need to hold down the shift key and click on the reload browser button). This forces your browser to get the page from our server. Once you have done this, try logging in again.
