Availability of UCAS Data for HESA information

What is this information?

This is the information used in the UCAS Data for HESA transaction. The majority of this data are available from UCAS prior to the release of the transaction.

What is available?

The majority of UCAS Data for HESA fields are available.

The exceptions being:

  • Subject Qualification Aim 1 - 3 (SBJQA 1 -3) - non-GTTR field
  • Subject Percentage 1 -3 (SBJPCT 1 - 3) - non-GTTR field
  • Highest Qualification on Entry (QUALENT3) - non-GTTR field

Caveats

Not all fields will be in a HESA Student Record compliant format.

Some data are not available until the end of cycle / after A-level results day.

Some data have to be derived.

  • Scottish Candidate Number: From ivgStarK as SCN
  • Surname: From ivgStarN as Surname
  • Forenames: From ivgStarN as Forenames
  • Date of birth: From ivgStarN as BirthDate
  • Gender: From ivgStarN as Sex
  • Area of permanent residence: From ivgStarK as APR
  • Nationality: From ivgStarK as Nationality
  • Disability: From ivgStarK as Disability
  • Postcode: From ivgStarA as Postcode
  • PGCE Class: From ivgStarG or ivgFirstDegree as DegreeClass
  • National identity: From ivgStarK as Nationalidentity1
  • Unique Learner Number: From ivgStarN as UniqueLearnerNumber
