Accessibility

The GTTR is committed to providing an accessible web presence that gives all members of the public full access to its information and services, which are offered through this website. We are committed to achieving full conformity with the World Wide Web Consortium's (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0 (1999), Priority levels 1 and 2 (also known as 'A' and 'AA'). This quality standard aims to ensure that a website is accessible to users with a range of disabilities, including those with visual impairments.

We are actively working towards conforming to these standards and the following features have already been included:

  • all pages have properly nested link lists in the navigation
  • a breadcrumb trail is provided on every page of the build to identify where it is within the site structure
  • all non-decorative images used include descriptive ALT attributes
  • background and foreground colours have been chosen to provide a high degree of contrast to maximise visibility. These colours are controlled within the cascading style sheets, which may be overridden by altering the user's browser settings
  • this site uses relative font sizes, to enable user-specified "text size" to be set in the user's browser (see below)
  • data tables have a summary description of the data they contain

This website build has been optimised to be viewed using the following browser technologies:

  • Internet Explorer version 5 and above
  • Firefox version 1 and above

The website content can be viewed using other browser technologies, but the visual presentation of this content may be limited, especially if the technology does not support cascading style sheets. Safari browsers are not currently supported.

This website has been designed to be viewed at 1024x768 pixels and upwards.
